Benson’s team, Yuan Hao, Stanley, and Sean demonstrated excellent knowledge of exercise techniques and body mechanics. To me they are coaches who train every individual with their heart, soul, and professionalism. Their instructions were clear and precise, ensuring that I performed each movement correctly and safely. Before each workout, they will provide the purpose and area to focus on, and how it contributed to my overall goals. The training always keeps me engaged and excited. Throughout the session, they are always very motivating and encouraging. They always offer positive and constructive feedback and how I should reinforce some of my workout. Their encouragement always wants me to push myself further and at the same time stay focus! After the workout, Benson took time to discuss my performance, answer any questions, and offer advice on recovery and nutrition. This thoughtful follow-up makes me accountable for my own health and fitness. I have been training at Vigeo for a year and my fitness has improved tremendously. I run ½ marathons at least twice a year. Within these periods, I managed to clock my personal best to finish the race 30 minutes faster than my usual time. Each student is provided with his/her own exercise station and equipment for the entire one-hour session, which I find time-efficient and hygienic compared to sharing. I was skeptical about my programme initially because it doesn't involve heavy weights and training to muscle failure, but decided to give it a shot based on the scientific evidence Benson cited. By the end of 12 sessions, which also includes diet advice but without going to the extreme, my weight and body fat dropped by 2 kg and 2% respectively. I guess the fact that I don't feel thrashed at the end of the workout kept me working out regularly. In fact, I actually look forward to training at Vigeo - the positive vibes, the bright, spacious, clean, and airy interior. The training programme is well tailored and the trainers are really knowledgable, professional and encouraging. I have been building muscle mass through remaining accountable with my diet, daily cardio exercise, protein intake and of course with my bi-weekly gym sessions. I once experienced some back pain the day after trying a new exercise and immediately Benson was able to diagnose the problem and was prompt to change to another exercise. Mainly because it's a journey of a considerable amount of time spent every month. The personal trainers and weight training programme matter. And it's always in the small details as well as understanding the psychology behind training. Vigeo met all my needs. First, what gets measured gets managed so at Vigeo, I get an InBody analysis everytime before I start my weight training. With that, I understand weight is just a number and all metrics flutuate so more importantly is to see overall progress instead of fixating on one reading. I'm a fitness nerd, meaning I digest tons of information about what really helps. (At least for my body type.) So you know they really want you to succeed when they have an app to help you track your habits outside of the gym, especially on getting enough protein. The habits are customised based on my lifestyle and that keeps it sustainable. Second, I love love how every trainer knows my "problem". They have a notebook where they quickly jot down observations that they need to be aware of. Each time an exercise triggers my sensitive back, we investigate together and make little tweaks until it's effective. They dun assume there's only one way to workout. I can't emphasise enough how important communication is. Even when it may have been my 3rd or 4th session of the intended programme, they dun take it for granted that I'll be able to recall or know what to do. They make sure I get my posture right without the weights first so I dun risk having any injury. Also to check if I can feel I'm working the intended muscles for that exercise. They are so so intuitive. They can spot when I am not using the right muscle group. It was so subtle. I was impressed. Third, the maintenance of the place is immaculate. No rusty bars or worn-out pads. Everything is monochrome so it feels like there is order and consistency. You can see Benson takes a lot of pride in the space he created. AND, each person has their own space during training, there is no sharing or waiting for your turn. Love that exclusive feeling. Fourth, they don't "mother" me. They teach me how to manage the weights from one place to another or how to load the plates. Of course unless it's too big or heavy, they are always there to help. I started in Nov 2023 and my muscle mass went from 20s range to 22s range.
